Crazy For Summer Read-A-Thon Day 1

Crazy For Summer Read-A-Thon Day 1

Today is the day!! It's the start of the Crazy For Summer Read-a-thon and I am extremely excited!! For this read-a-thon I am really pushing to complete my set tbr because I have not done this yet for any read-a-thon that I have participated in so far.

Anyhoo, there are all different challenges each day as well as Twitter chats and overall challenges too, so yay!! excitement ahead.

For Day 1, there are 3 different challenges /  things to do and they are as follows:

1. Get To Know You Questions

1. What is your favourite thing about reading?
I just love reading, as I'm sure you can all guess, and the reason I love reading is to get away in a different world, a different story. I just love the escape and adventure part of reading.

2. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
My favourite thing about blogging is getting to express myself and talk about what I have a passion for with all of you very passionate people too.

3. What is your favourite thing about Summer?
Summer, Summer, Summer!! Hmmm my favourite part of Summer would be the vacation mostly :P

4. If you could take a summer vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go??
Honestly, I have this whole list of places I would like to go, it's practically everywhere in the world. But for summer,I wouldn't want to go somewhere too hot. I know, summer is all about the heat but the truth is I'm not a fan of it. After all, I come from Ireland and when the temperature push above 20 degrees it is too hot. So round about answer I would go to Venice or Prague :P

5. What is your favourite book of the year so far?
So far this year I have rated 11 books with full 5 stars and to say which one is my favourite is extremely difficult, too difficult so here are just a few:
- I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson
- The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender
- More Than This by Patrick Ness
- Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

6. Coke or Pepsi?
Neither I only drink water :P

7. Fantasy or Sci-Fi?

8. Hardcovers or Paperbacks?
Paperbacks!! I just love them a lot more. They are cheaper, look great and easier to hold while reading it.

9. Chocolate or Vanilla?
Hmm, this really depends on what you're referring too. For ice-cream it's vanilla cause I hate chocolate ice-cream but for everything else chocolate rules!! :D

10. What is your favourite tv show at the moment?
My favourite tv show right now is Pretty Little Liars!! I started watching it a few days ago on Netflix and have just been hooked since. Currently I'm watching Season 1 Episode 13!!

2. Two Truths and a Lie
This one is simple!! I state three facts about myself and you have to decide, or figure out which one is a lie!!
Here are my facts!!

1. I have 6 pets.
2. I live in the city.
3. I don't know how to cycle a bike.

3. My Crazy For Summer Read-A-Thon Goals

Displaying 20150621_122021.jpg

My goals for Crazy For Summer Read-A-Thon are as follows:
- To finish A Court of Thorns and Roses
- To finish The Luxe series (Rumours, Envy, Splendour)
- To read Second Chance Summer
- To finish The Darkest Powers series (The Reckoning)

This way I get to accomplish some of the set goals for the read-a-thon such as:
- TBR Tackler
- Series Smasher
- Summer Sensation
- Genre Guru
- Rapid Reader

  1. Great introduction!
I am so glad that I found someone else who likes paperbacks! I never really understood why people pay twice as much for a hardcover when they can just get a paperback. I think they are easier to read and easier to transport. Who wants to lug around a heavy hardcover all of the time?
You are going for pretty much all of the achievements! Good for you! I hope you can get them all.
I am notoriously bad at Two Truths and a Lie (I get them wrong every time) but I think your lie is that you live in the city. Am I right?
I really hope that we can continue to share our mutual passion for books throughout the event!
    Tessa @ Crazy for YA

    1. Thank you!! :)
I know like hardbacks are just super expensive for the exact same story!! And ya, you'd end up with some sort of injury carrying them around all the time :p
Haha ya hopefully I'll get to complete them all :) We'll just have to see :)
Hmmm, you'll just have to wait and see if you're right :p I'll post the answer tomorrow's post that way everyone can have a guess :)
Yes!! Of course. I just followed you on twitter too :)

  2. I hope you enjoy A Court of Thorns and Roses! I've been dying to get my hands on it.
I'm going to guess that your lie is #2 only because I can barely handle my two pets--I can't even imagine what six must be like.
You have some awesome books to read and a ton of awesome goals. Good luck, and I hope you have fun :)

    Max @ Crazy for YA

    1. Thank you Max!! I'm just after finishing A Court of Thorns and Roses a few minutes ago and it was amazing!!
Haha you'll find out tomorrow if you're right :p

  3. Great Introduction! I'm currently reading Second Chance Summer. It's good, it's longer than Since You've Been Gone. it focuses on family and friendships, a little romance in it.

    1. Thank You Lissette :)
I actually can't wait to read Second Chance Summer because I absolutely loved Since You've Been Gone!!

  4. I feel like everyone's answer about what they love about reading is basically the same. It's just too hard to express fully how wonderful reading is.
I feel like Venice would be super hot, but pretty.
I have plenty of books rated 5 stars too. I guess we are both lucky this year.
I hate chocolate ice cream too... I'm kind of shocked someone agrees with me. I prefer chocolate in other areas like cupcakes and cakes.
You don't know how to use a bicycle maybe?
    Good luck this week Sarah!

    1. That's true!! And yes it's been a good reading year so far!! :D
Oh my God, yay!! someone else doesn't like chocolate ice-cream too!! Same here, warm chocolate cake with cream, yum, yum :P
      Thank you!! :)

  5. Oooh I love your goals and TBR! The Luxe series was pretty good. I'm just a little confused though... where do we find these daily challenges and the set goals for the readathon?

    1. I'm really enjoying it so far :) Oh the read-a-thon info and goals and everything in on Tessa's and Max's blog Crazy For YA -

  6. Do you love Pepsi or Coca-Cola?
PARTICIPATE IN THE POLL and you could win a prepaid VISA gift card!
