Wishlist Wednesday #15

Wishlist Wednesday #15

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Pen to Paper. This meme is where you showcase one book that is on your wishlist and that you can't wait to get off your wishlist and into your hands.

On my Wishlist Wednesday today is....

November 9 by Colleen Hoover
November 9

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.

Another Colleen Hoover book and this is her latest release, November 9. I love the concept behind this book and really want to find out how Colleen Hoover writes this and what the hell happens in this book too, so yes I literally can't wait to get my hands on this one.

Have you read this book??
Is it on your wishlist??

Young Adult Fantasy - The Young Elites by Marie Lu
Young Adult Contemporary - Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson
Young Adult Dystopia - The One by Kiera Cass
Young Adult Horror - The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich

Adult - A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin

2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?

A book that I was really excited for was The Next Together by Lauren James. It was a debut released this year and I bought it soon after its release date but I was really disappointed with it. I was expecting a book that was going to blow me away but it was only ok. I gave it 3 Stars.

3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?
The most surprising book I read this year was Trouble Is A Friend Of Mine by Stephanie Tromly. I got this book in my Owlcrate and wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. I gave it 5 Stars.

4. Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)?

Amm I think it was I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson. I even made my friend read it so that we could go see Jandy Nelson in Dublin and she loved it so much!

5. Best series you started in 2015? Best Sequel of 2015? Best Series Ender of 2015?

The best series I started is between The Ilumminae Files, The Young Elites & A Court of Thorns and Roses.
The best sequel was Cress by Marissa Meyer.
The best ending to a series that I read was Monsters by Ilsa J. Bick.

6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2015?

I discovered many new authors in 2015, but the best would have to be either Patrick Ness, Morgan Matson or Ruta Sepetys, simply because I read more than 1 of their works this year alone!

7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone?

A genre I don't typically read is New Adult. I kind of cringe away from the typical plot lines and all that but I loved A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas.

8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?

Definitely Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff. I read the whole book in the span of two days. I couldn't put it down!

9. Book You Read In 2015 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year?

I really have a feeling that I'm going to be rereading I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson next year.

10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2015?

2015 was just the year of fabulous covers so this is definitely a hard one...

The Next TogetherThe Infinite (Gates of Thread and Stone, #2)A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava LavenderA Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird, #1)Talon
Since You've Been GoneIlluminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)I'll Give You the Sun

11. Most memorable character of 2015?

Adelina Amouteru was definitely the most memorable and unique because she is an anti-hero and it isn't often you read a book where the main character is the bad guy!

12. Most beautifully written book read in 2015?

I have to say that The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender was the most beautiful written book I read in 2015.

13. Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2015?

The Most Thought Provoking would have to be Asking For It by Louise O' Neill. This is an important book that everyone should read about rape, consent, victim blaming and really does make you think about our society and the type of people that are in it.

14. Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2015 to finally read?

I can't believe it took me till 2015 to read More Than This by Patrick Ness. That book was released in 2013 and I wouldn't have even picked it up only for my brother picked it up in the shop and got me to buy it. Such a mind blowing, amazing book though.

15. Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2015?

I don't really pay attention to quotes much but I loved this one from I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson - 'Maybe some people are just meant to be in the same story.'

16.Shortest & Longest Book You Read In 2015?

Shortest - The Tailor by Leigh Bardugo
Longest - A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin

17. Book That Shocked You The Most

I'm going to go with The One by Kiera Cass. This book as predictable as it was shocked me because I loved it so much. I didn't like The Elite as much as I liked The Selection and was shocked to learn that I liked The One the best simply because of its cuddly, fluffy, swoon worthy, smile teasing entertainment value.

18. OTP OF THE YEAR (you will go down with this ship!)

I only ship a few couples really but from 2015 my OTP of the Year was Kady & Ezra, such emotions I went through reading about this relationship. God....

19. Favorite Non-Romantic Relationship Of The Year

Jude and Noah from I'll Give You The Sun. I loved he relationship they had as twins.

20. Favorite Book You Read in 2015 From An Author You’ve Read Previously

The Young Elites by Marie Lu. I read Marie Lu's Legend series and adred it and just fell in love with this book too. What did I expect, it's Marie Lu after all.

21. Best Book You Read In 2015 That You Read Based SOLELY On A Recommendation From Somebody Else/Peer Pressure:

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I picked this up on a whim solely because of recommendations. I didn't even know what the book was really about...

22. Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2015?

Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses & Wolf and Thorne and possibly Kai from The Lunar Chronicles.... and there may be more,... leave me be...

23. Best 2015 debut you read?

It's between The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich and The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton.

24. Best Worldbuilding/Most Vivid Setting You Read This Year?

The world of The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.

25. Book That Put A Smile On Your Face/Was The Most FUN To Read?

26. Book That Made You Cry Or Nearly Cry in 2015?

Unbecoming by Jenny Downham....

27. Hidden Gem Of The Year?

Unbecoming by Jandy Nelson! It's such a great book and on Goodreads it only has 124 ratings.

28. Book That Crushed Your Soul?

Hmmm, I didn't have any crush souling books this year..

29. Most Unique Book You Read In 2015?

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff. I loved the uniqueness of this story. There was just so much to and then the way it was told was just extraordinary!

30. Book That Made You The Most Mad (doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t like it)?

Blood Red Road by Moira Young. I was so mad because everyone I heard talking about this book loved it and I couldn't get past page 50...

It's The End of 2015 Read-A-Thon - Day 2

We're on Day 2! And Day 2's challenge is hosted by Cheyenne so head over to here to see what it is.

Now as for my progress for yesterday, well let's just say it was a slight disaster. I read 15 pages yesterday, just 15 pages and it was of Winter by Marissa Meyer and I was dying to read more but by the time I got to sit down and read, I was just so exhausted that I only read the first chapter.

Concerning today's challenge, I won't be able to participate simply because I won't have the time and there are a lot of guests today so I wish you all well!

I hope you all had a fun day yesterday and there will be more twitter sprints later on today too so stay tuned!

'Tis The Season Tag

'Tis The Season Tag

I saw this on PeruseProject's Youtube channel so yay! It's nearly Christmas, what a perfect time to do this tag!

1. Do you have a favourite winter read?
Nope, I actually just don't read by season really and I just go with the flow.... *whoosh*

2. Find a book with blue on the cover!
The first book that came to mind was 'Asking For It by Louise O' Neill' and it was such a life-changing book that everyone should read, seriously read it!
Asking For It

3. A book that you would put as a star on top of your Christmas Tree.
Oh such a hard question... I don't know. What book will I put as the star....... Help me!! I'm just going to go with Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff. Such an amazing book and pretty!! Really pretty.
Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)

4. Pick one winter place that would be perfect for a winter vacation.
The landscape and setting of The Wolf Wilder is such a fascinating winter location in Russia. There's so much snow, woods and wolves, just a magical setting.
The Wolf Wilder

5. Pick a fictional character that you would want to go with you on that winter vacation.
Well if I'm going to Russia, Dimitri Belikov is my man to come with me. He could show me all the sights and all those hidden gems of places that only locals would know.

6. Name a book that you really want for Christmas.
Winter by Marissa Meyer!!! I need this book!!

7. Name your favourite movie, treat and activity to do during Christmas!
Movie - Any Harry Potter movie. It's not Christmas, if the Harry Potter movies are not marathoning during Christmas on TV.
Treat - Flan, hmmmmm. Sponge base, fresh cream layered on top and of course a crumbled flake on top. Only at Christmas do I get to have a flan.
Activity - Whatever is on occasion for that Christmas. There's breaking crackers, playing with toys, getting up at 6am, the whole shebang! I just love spending Christmas with my family.

Wishlist Wednesday #14

Wishlist Wednesday #14

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Pen to Paper. This meme is where you showcase one book that is on your wishlist and that you can't wait to get off your wishlist and into your hands.

On my Wishlist Wednesday today is....

Confess by Colleen Hoover
Confess

Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…

Sticking with Colleen Hoover, this is the second book that I want to read from her. I've heard so much hype, praise and love for Confess and I really want to read it too. This book also won the Goodreads Choice Awards so I think it'll be a great all-rounder.

Have you read this book??
Is it on your wishlist??
What have you got on your wishlist??

Top Ten Tuesday #27

Top Ten Tuesday #27

Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish and consists of them picking a topic each week for us bloggers to list our Top Ten.

Yay! A Christmas Wishlist list!!

1. Winter by Marissa Meyer
The final book in The Lunar Chronicles series and I literally can't wait to get my hands on it. (PS My little 7 year old brother has already gotten me this book for Christmas because I showed it to him and he said he'd get it for me, so it's already wrapped and waiting..)

2. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
After reading Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys I really want to read more of her books and this one is her only other published work - her debut, so hint, hint Santa!!

3. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I saw so much hype over this book since it was released a few years back and the concept behind the book just sounds do interesting. You guys might remember seeing this book featured in my Wishlist Wednesday just a few weeks ago :P

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)Between Shades of GrayThe Night Circus

4. The Diviners by Libba Bray
I've heard such good things about this book that I really want to get it and read it. What do you say, Santa??

5. Drowning Instinct by Ilsa J. Bick
Another book I've been wanting for a while now. I've read Ilsa J. Bick's Ashes trilogy and loved it and this is her Contemporary / Realistic Fiction about a student / teacher relationship. I'm intrigued. Come on Santa, please!!

6. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
I love Historical Fiction and from everything that I've heard about this book, this is a great one, so Santa, nudge, nudge....

7. Not A Drop To Drink by Mindy McGuinnis
I really, really, really want to read this book. I've wanted to read it since it's release and then the sequel came out and then Mindy's new book came out an I am still here waiting to read the first one. *sigh*. I think Santa might be nice and drop this book in my stocking :P

8. Soundless by Richelle Mead
I love Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy and Bloodlines series so when I found out she had written a standalone fantasy novel, I was like hell ya. I know this book is really short but still I really would like it for Christmas, Santa.

9. In The Shadow Of Blackbirds by Cat Winters
I had heard about Cat Winters in passing a few time in my trolls through blogs, booktube and Goodreads so one day I just decided to look her up and see what type of books she's written and I can honestly tell you they are right up my alley. I just really want to read Cat Winters now and I believe this is her first book (I could be wrong) but I definitely just want to see this book or any one of her books under my tree this year.

Not a Drop to DrinkSoundlessIn the Shadow of Blackbirds

10. An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
This book has been everywhere since its release, but amazing and well not unsurprisingly either I have not seen it in one bookshop in this entire country, so Santa, maybe I can get it from you!!

An Ember in the Ashes

What books do you hope to find under your Christmas tree this year?
